Fuel-friendly cars and trucks, including hybrids, prove popular with Canadian drivers (TORONTO) – Canadian drivers continue to turn to Toyota and Lexus for fuel-friendly vehicle choices – achieving record sales in July. TCI sold 21,990 Toyota and Lexus cars and trucks in July, up 18.3 per cent from the same month last year to set new sales records for both brands, led by the following: Sales of the Canadian-built compact Toyota Corolla rose 35.9 per cent to 5,574. Canadians bought 2,584 Canadian-built Toyota Matrix crossovers – up 14.4 per cent
