By selecting the only hybrid-powered vehicle in its category, the media showed their support for sustainable transportation and the greener advances found in the hybrid-powered 2010 Lexus RX 450h. “We’d like to thank AJAC members for recognizing the Lexus RX 450h’s winning combination that offers more power, and better fuel efficiency and emissions performance,” said Larry Hutchinson, Director of Lexus in Canada. “For a safe, intuitive, comfortable luxury motoring experience in an advanced SUV design, Canadian drivers can count on Lexus.” The Lexus RX 450h is one of four hybrid models available from Lexus, the world’s only automaker to offer a full line up of luxury hybrid vehicles.

Researchers are analyzing data from 2,500 road trips to determine how internal electronic vehicle controls could be tweaked to further improve fuel efficiency and fun-to-drive attributes. Working with U of M, Ford has tested nearly 1 million design simulations of hybrid vehicle control systems to date and continues to conduct about 50,000 a week – a development speed that otherwise would not be possible.
