PERFORMANCE Advanced Valve Timing Control All Lexus engines employ continuously Variable Valve Timing with intelligence (VVT-i), which eliminates the compromise between low-end torque and high-rpm horsepower by optimizing valve overlap throughout the engine’s speed range, not just at one or two set speeds. VVT-i helps improve fuel economy and lower emissions. Models powered by the new-generation V6 and V8 engines employ a Dual VVT-i system that acts on the exhaust valves as well as the intake valves.
