Honda Begins Production of Accord V-6 Sedan in Alabama
LINCOLN, Ala. - Jul 17 — Honda Manufacturing of Alabama, LLC marked the start of production* of the Accord V-6 Sedan today, utilizing the plant’s flexible manufacturing system to meet customer demand for Honda’s lineup of passenger cars and light trucks and ensure the most efficient use of Honda’s manufacturing capacity in Alabama and throughout North America. “The addition of the Accord V-6 Sedan in Alabama was a great challenge, but one that our associates have accomplished by working together with a single focus — to build products of the highest quality for our customers,” said Nobu Sanui, president and CEO of Honda’s Alabama operations. HMA is now the production source of four Honda vehicles: the Odyssey minivan; the Pilot sport utility vehicle; the Ridgeline pickup; and the Accord V-6 Sedan, as well as the V-6 engines that power each vehicle.

American Honda Reports June Sales
Odyssey and Pilot sales increase 11.8 percent and 7.7 percent respectively TORRANCE, Calif. - Jul 01 — American Honda Motor Co., Inc., posted June vehicle sales of 100,420, a decline of 32.4 percent compared to June 2008 results*. American Honda year-to-date sales of 530,778 represent a 33.1 percent decrease. Sales of Honda’s Odyssey and Pilot light truck models showed gains of 11.8 percent and 7.7 percent respectively. Honda total car sales decreased 43.8 percent to 52,662 and Honda light truck sales decreased 5.6 percent to 39,478. Honda Division posted June sales of 92,140, a decline of 32.0 percent versus June 2008.
